Ladies and all girls out there, no matter you are single, married, divorced or a widow, financial independence is extremely important for all of you. Today I am going to tell you 5 reasons, why you should be financially independent. Why is it important for each one of you to earn, even if it’s small amount? How can it change your life? Here is the number one and topmost reason why you should at least earn some amount of money:
1.Unforseen events:
I am not being negative here but of course being practical. We all have learnt one thing during g this pandemic “Life is very uncertain”. We all want our life to go the way we have planned but it doesn’t happen always. People are losing their jobs, some have lost their lives, some are not fit enough to back to work. If a woman in a family earns, she can at least offer some support to the family during emergencies or any unforeseen event like death, illness, unemployment, divorce. So, ladies or girls, you must have some money of your own …but not from husband’s pocket.
2. Confidence and respect
Earning money is directly associated to your confidence. No matter you earn more or less, it boosts your confidence and self-esteem. I often hear from housewives saying,” no one respect me! I don’t feel confident! The day you start earning money your husband and kids will start respecting you. When you earn money, you can take your own decisions, you can spend money the way you want, you can learn new skills. You will not depend on your parents or husband to join any hobby or fitness class. When you work towards your own personality development it eventually boosts your confidence. Your partner may not say this upfront but it very challenging to match the cost of living these days. Your contribution even if it is small will gain lot of respect in his eyes for you.
3. Relationship gets better
This one is my personal experience! If you are married or in a relationship, you may agree that at times we women overthink and over react on petty issues. If you choose to work, it can be full time or part time, your focus tends to shift from these small things to your work. When you yourself is busy with work you overlook small issues, that is what, these males expect from us. So, if you keep yourself little busy in your work, it is going to leave positive impact on your relationship. Your man will respect you for this.
4.Role model for your children
When you earn even some amount of money, you get the power to choose, you can take small decisions on your own. All this makes you better and confident personality. The same work that you do in 6 hours, you will try to do it faster so that you can give time to your work. This improves your management skills. Your children get highly influenced by the way you live your life. If you have a girl child, she would learn from you how to manage work and other responsibilities at the same time. If it’s a boy he will support his wife in future. If children see their mother working, they learn time management and understand the value of money.
5.Independent decision making
Even if you don’t need money, if you are from a well to do family, you must do some work. You can take your life’s big decision if you do not depend on anyone else financially. You can choose your life partner. You can walk out of an abusive marriage if you are financially independent. You can take your education to the next level. I have seen women adjusting beyond their limits in abusive relationships just because they don’t have money to start a new life.
So, start thinking right away what you can do to earn money. I strongly believe earning money these days is far easier than before.
